1994 COLT DETECTIVE SPECIAL 6-shot, .38 Special revolver with a 2″ barrel and a beautiful original factory blued finish.  In 1927, Colt decided to offer its popular Police Positive Special with a 2″ barrel.  In a stroke of pure genius- Colt decided that this new version should be named the Colt Detective Special. For the next 50 years, the Colt Detective Special was the preferred revolver for Police Detectives, Undercover Officers, and off duty Policemen throughout the US. During those years the vast majority of all police officers owned a Colt Detective Special. The Detective Special was so popular because it was an easily concealable handgun that was powerful and held six rounds. It was also prized for its accuracy and high standards of fit and finish, especially when compared to other revolvers of its category. Many consider the Detective Special to be the finest “snubby” revolver produced. This particular example was manufactured in 1994 and is in excellent condition. The finish is beautiful and there are almost no handling marks- in fact, this revolver could be unfired since the factory test fire back in 1994.  The factory Pachmayr “Compac” grips are pristine, with checkering that is sharp to the touch.  If not for a very slight bit of finish loss, this beautiful ” would be priced hundred’s higher. take a long look at the photos- this is a beautiful gun that could be added to any Colt collection or easily serve as a premium EDC.
