1973 COLT TROOPER MKIII , 6-shot, .357 Magnum revolver with a 4″ barrel and a gorgeous original factory blued finish. Colt first introduced the Trooper in 1953. Later in 1969, the Trooper was updated as a part of an entirely new product release dubbed the MK III series. The MKIII series was the first major advancement of Colt’s designs since the beginning of the 20th century. The new MK IIIs used a newly developed transfer-bar lock system, so that the revolver would only fire if the trigger was pulled completely to the rear. The springs and internals were also improved,  and it was an immediate success with Law Enforcement and civilian shooters alike. This particular example has a beautiful original factory blued finish that easily rates at 98-99%. There is a faint turn line on the cylinder, and very few light handling  marks overall. The gun feels tight- and there is little evidence of use. The original factory target grips are in very good condition with the slightest of handling marks present.  Once plentiful, Colt Troopers have now become scarce, and it is very rare these days to find an early 1970s Trooper in high condition. If you have been looking for a Colt Trooper to complete your collection- this is your chance.  Ships complete in the original box, (which is missing the label) and includes the manual and all factory paperwork.  Please see photos for item condition and details and do not hesitate to contact us directly with any questions at [email protected]
