1980 COLT PYTHON, 6-shot, .357 Magnum revolver with a 4″ barrel and a gorgeous original Colt “Royal Blue” finish. Colt first introduced the iconic Python in 1955, and it quickly became the most popular of all of Colt’s “Snake Guns”. Many collectors and firearms historians consider the Colt Python to be the finest handgun ever produced, and its popularity has eclipsed all competitors. The original Pythons, with their hand fitted assembly and exhaustive hand-finishing can never be duplicated, and the recent introduction of inferior machine-made copies has only pushed the value of the original Pythons higher. This particular gun is absolutely gorgeous  and shows no evidence of firing since the factory test fire.  The hand-polished Royal Blue finish on this firearm is spectacular- and the original factory walnut target grips are just gorgeous and have perfectly sharp checkering throughout.  A tiny rub on the backside of the barrel that isn’t easy to see is all that keeps this example from being a 99.9% Investment Grade gun priced hundreds more.  Finding an original Colt Python in this condition anywhere close to this price has become very difficult, if not impossible.  This firearm is a wonderful example of the most famous handgun ever produced, and would be a great addition to any serious Colt collection.
