2005 BERETTA MODEL 96D BRIGADIER, 11+1, .40 S&W, DAO pistol (#237 of 400) with Limited Edition gold-filled markings and Custom walnut grips & medallions honoring the 100th Anniversary of the Pennsylvania State Police.  First appearing in 1993, the Beretta 96D Brigadier was designed for the United States INS agency. The INS wanted a pistol with a heavy slide to reduce muzzle flip, a removable front sight and a pistol that was sturdy enough for high volume shooting. They also wanted a double-action only pistol. In response, Beretta developed the 96D Brigadier- a pistol chambered in the .40 S&W caliber and designed exclusively for US Federal Law Enforcement agencies. The Model 96D remains a pistol designated for Law Enforcement use and is not sold directly to civilian users. This particular firearm is number 236 of 400 specially commissioned weapons produced to commemorate 100 years of duty to the State of Pennsylvania. It is 100% new & unfired and has only the slightest of handling marks.  It comes in a spectacular custom glass-covered display case- one of the finest hand-built firearm cases we have seen.
