1979 COLT PYTHON, 6-shot, .357 Magnum revolver with a 6″ barrel and a beautiful original Colt “Royal Blue” finish. The most popular of all of Colt’s iconic ‘Snake Guns” was first introduced in 1955. Almost every firearms Collector and enthusiast around the world considers the Colt Python to be finest handgun ever produced. The design, construction and finish of the Royal Blued Python far eclipsed it’s competitors when it was released over 65 years ago, and remarkably, that still holds true today.  The quality of these original Pythons, with their hand-fitted assembly and exhaustive hand-polishing will never be duplicated.  The recent introduction of inferior machine-made copies has only pushed the value of the original Pythons higher. This particular example is in very good condition, and comes complete in the original serialized factory box with the manual, all factory paperwork, including the original price tag from the Gun Store where it was purchased many years ago for the huge sum of $389.95.  There are a couple of very slight handling marks and a faint 2nd turn line on the cylinder but otherwise- it is a real beauty.  The original walnut target grips are in very nice condition with sharp checkering throughout. These  late 1970s “V Series” Pythons are prized by Collectors, because they come from the Golden Age of Colt Craftsmanship. These firearms were not only hand-assembled and hand-tuned, these guns were also hand-polished. One Colt employee was responsible for polishing each Python. Sometimes up to eight hours of polishing was necessary for a single Python- in order to achieve the iconic Royal Blue finish. We often see confused sellers refer to other Colt models as having a “Royal Blue” finish- but they are mistaken. Only the finest handgun in the world wears the famous Colt Royal Blue. A finish that will NEVER be duplicated.  If you have always wanted to own an original Colt Python, or wished for a “Snake Gun” that you could also actually fire- this is a rare opportunity.
