1985 Smith & Wesson Model 60-1, 5-shot .38 Special, Chief’s Special “Ashland” series, one of only 660 produced.  This is one of the ultra rare “Ashland” series guns that feature a tall ramped front sight and fully adjustable rear sight. The “Ashland” guns were a limited production run made in 1985 for the Ashland Shooters Supply Co. Only 660 units were produced. Of course it is the unique front and rear sights that distinguish this series from regular production Model 60s. This particular example is absolutely beautiful and would rate 99% if not for several light scratches on the non-medallion side of the frame (see photos for close-ups of that area). Although introduced over 50 years ago, the Model 60 is still one of the most popular self-defense firearms ever made and this is one of the rarest of those produced. Ships complete in original factory box and includes manual, factory paperwork and unopened tool kit.
