1984 Smith & Wesson Model 60 “Chief’s Special”, 5-shot .38 Special revolver with a RARE 3″ barrel and square butt frame. In 1984 S&W made a very limited production run of the famous Model 60 “no-dash” with a 3″ barrel and square butt frame. According to S&W, only 1,000 units of this special revolver were made, and then shipped to John Jovino in June 1984. This particular example is absolutely pristine, and easily rates 99%. It is likely, given the faint powder burns on the cylinder face and lack of any wear whatsoever, that this gun has not been fired since the factory test fire. The original walnut service grips are near perfect with zero visible wear. The action and lockup on this firearm are tight and it feels exactly as a new revolver would. Although introduced over 50 years ago, the Model 60 is still one of the most popular self-defense firearms ever made and this is one of the rarest of those produced. Ships complete in original factory box and includes manual and factory paperwork.
