1978 Smith & Wesson Model 59, 14+1 shot semi-automatic, 9mm, AS-NEW in the box. This vintage Model 59 sports a 14-shot double stack magazine, checkered hardwood grips and a gorgeous original blued finish. The Model 59 was designed for the US Navy as a large-capacity version of the S&W Model 39. Manufactured in 9mm caliber with a wider frame, a straight backstrap, a magazine disconnect (the pistol will not fire unless a magazine is in place), and a manual safety. It uses a magazine release located to the rear of the trigger guard, similar to the M1911A1. This particular gun is in very high condition. We see this Model often, and almost always with a scuffed and scratched finish and lots of wear. This one however, is beautiful and would fit nicely into any serious S&W collection. This is a complete Collector’s package and ships in original box and includes factory paperwork.
